Privacy Policy

Overview

ReadyPing (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a push notification delivery service for businesses. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. We are committed to compliance with the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What We Collect

When you subscribe to push notifications for a business on ReadyPing, your browser generates a unique push subscription token. This token consists of:

  • A push endpoint URL (assigned by your browser vendor)
  • An encryption public key (p256dh)
  • An authentication secret (auth)

These values are cryptographic identifiers generated entirely by your browser. They contain no personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or location. We do not collect any personal information beyond what your browser provides automatically.

How We Use It

Push subscription tokens are stored securely and used solely to deliver push notifications on behalf of the business you subscribed to. We act as a data processor; the business is the data controller. We do not share, sell, or use your subscription data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the notifications you consented to receive.

Consent (CASL)

Subscribing to notifications constitutes express consent under CASL. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” on the business’s subscribe page, or by revoking notification permission in your browser settings. Upon unsubscription, your push token is permanently deleted from our systems within 24 hours.

Data Retention

Subscription tokens are retained for as long as you are subscribed and the associated business account is active. Notification delivery logs are retained for up to 90 days for reliability and debugging purposes, then automatically purged.

Security

All data is transmitted over TLS. Push tokens are stored in an encrypted database hosted in Canada. Access is restricted to authorized service infrastructure only.

Your Rights (PIPA)

Under BC PIPA, you have the right to request access to your personal information, request correction, or request deletion. To exercise these rights, contact the business that operates the ReadyPing subscription you signed up through, as they are the data controller for your subscription.
