How do push notifications work for restaurants?+
ReadyPing uses the Web Push Protocol (the same technology browsers use for native notifications). When your product is ready, staff taps a button on their phone or tablet. Every customer who subscribed to that product gets a push notification on their device instantly. No third-party app required.
Do customers need to download an app?+
No. Customers scan a QR code, pick the products they want to follow, and allow notifications in their browser. That is it. On Android, notifications work immediately. On iPhone, customers need to tap "Add to Home Screen" first (an iOS requirement for web push).
Does it work on iPhone?+
Yes. Since iOS 16.4, Safari supports web push notifications. Customers need to add your ReadyPing page to their Home Screen (takes 5 seconds). After that, they receive notifications just like any other app. Android works instantly without any extra steps.
How much does ReadyPing cost?+
Free plan: 1 product, 100 subscribers, forever free. Pro: $29/month for 5 products and unlimited subscribers. Business: $79/month for unlimited everything. Multi-location: $49/month per location (3+ locations). Push notifications are free to send, always. No per-message fees.
How do customers subscribe?+
Customers scan a QR code you place at your counter, on packaging, or anywhere visible. They land on your branded page, pick which products to follow, and allow notifications. The whole process takes under 10 seconds.
Can I use it for multiple locations?+
Yes. The multi-location plan is $49/month per location (3+ locations). Each location gets its own QR code, product list, and subscriber base. Customers only get notifications from the location they subscribed to.
Is ReadyPing GDPR compliant?+
Yes. ReadyPing is fully GDPR and CASL compliant. Customers explicitly opt in by scanning the QR code and granting notification permission. They can unsubscribe at any time through their browser settings or your ReadyPing page. We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or personal data.
How many notifications can I send?+
Unlimited. Push notifications use the Web Push Protocol with VAPID keys, which means there is no per-message cost. Whether you have 50 subscribers or 5,000, every notification is free to send. Send as many as your business needs.
What's the difference between ReadyPing and SMS?+
SMS costs $0.01 to $0.05 per message and requires collecting phone numbers. ReadyPing push notifications are free to send, forever. Customers do not need to share personal information. SMS also has opt-in regulations that are harder to manage. Push notifications are faster, cheaper, and more privacy-friendly.
How do I set up ReadyPing for my bakery?+
Sign up (60 seconds), add your products (sourdough, croissants, etc.), print the QR code, and place it at your counter. When a batch comes out of the oven, tap the button on your phone. Every subscriber who follows that product gets notified. Setup takes under 5 minutes.
Does ReadyPing work with my POS system?+
ReadyPing works independently of your POS. Staff tap a button on their phone or tablet when a product is ready. No integration needed, no IT department required. We are exploring POS integrations for high-volume businesses. Contact us if this is important to you.
Can customers choose which products to follow?+
Yes. When customers scan your QR code, they see a list of your products and pick exactly which ones they want notifications for. A customer who only cares about your sourdough will not get pinged about croissants. This keeps notifications relevant and reduces unsubscribes.
